Salt Chlorine Pool Maintenance Myrtle Beach Spas

In this article, we’re going to talk about swimming pool maintenance for salt chlorine pools.

We would like to run our pump a minimum of 12 hours during daylight hours to ensure adequate filtration and circulation.

Twice a week:

We want to test our pH and the free chlorine residual, maintaining our chlorine at a 3-5 ppm and our pH at a 7.4-7.6 ppm adjusting as needed.

Every week:

  1. Adjust your salt chlorine generator to maintain a 3-5 ppm of chlorine
  2. Add Micro Clean to your pool maintenance to maintain sparkling clear water and prevent algae build up
  3. Add Metal Miracle to prevent staining and metal build up and build up in your salt scale plates
  4. Add Ocean Breeze Re-Support to enhance pool water and reduce skin irritation and control allergy. This also improves filtration.
  5. Remember to brush and vacuum the pool on a weekly basis, emptying the skimmer and pump baskets.
  6. Check to see if the filter pressure is adequate and adjust if needed.

Every 2 weeks:

We want to shock the pool with chlorine or place your salt chlorine generator in the boost mode to eliminate undesirable compounds.

Once a month:

Remember to come in to Graves Pools and Spas to complete a water analysis to maintain your sparkling clear swimming pool water.

And every so often, make sure you check your salt chlorine cell to make sure there is no build up and clean the cell as needed.

These are just some basic steps on how to maintain a salt chlorine pool so you’ll have sparkling clear beautiful water to enjoy all summer season long. We look forward to seeing you here at Graves Pools and Spas for your complete water analysis test to aid you in this process.
